USA Today and the American Institute of Architects have teamed up to help travelers find the best buildings in America and have announced today that ikon.5 architects’ Monmouth Battlefield State Park Visitors Center is one of 25 Must See buildings in the State of New Jersey.

The Monmouth Battlefield State Park Visitor Center in Manalapan is a portal and orientation point to the historic battlefield that figured prominently in the American Revolutionary War. Our building replaced a hastily-considered structure built for the Bicentennial with an open pavilion that places primacy on the landscape of the battlefield as an important artifact. Through its sitting and generous use of large expanses of glass, the pavilion dramatically changes the visitor experience while framing views of the battlefield that were previously obscured.

The Center features a gallery, orientation theater, museum store, multipurpose classrooms, and archeological lab; has earned LEED Silver certification; and was recognized with an Honor Award by the New Jersey Chapter of the American Institute of Architects in 2014.
