Lecture Auditorium | Brooklyn College -- The City University of New York | Brooklyn, New York

300-seat lecture hall | lobby and pre-function | audio visual systems
The renovation for the Ingersoll Lecture Hall modernizes a 300-seat auditorium for contemporary teaching modalities and allows the College to broadcast and live stream its large assembly classes remotely. Historically, in addition to serving as a teaching classroom, this lecture hall has also been used for movie and television stage sets because of its iconic shell-like shape. The renovation enhances, improves, and updates the interior finishes and appearance while complementing its original shape. The overall design approach utilizes acoustical plaster ceiling and walls creating interlocking shells with integrated LED lighting to achieve an overall dynamic aesthetic form that is consistent with the original iconic room and delivers an economical solution with a strong identity.
